ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS:   A most unusual football season opener produced a most unexpected result as the Bobcats fell at home to a much-improved Spring Grove team 31-14 on Friday night. Speaking of improved, the Bobcats ran into another team that looks better in 2020, the Dallastown Wildcats. Playing in their first game of the season, Dallastown topped Northeastern 30-27.

Boys soccer opened the season with Thursday's 4-0 blanking of William Penn. Alex Afata scored all four of the Bobcats goals.

Girls soccer also had a successful opener, blanking William Penn, 6-0.

Cross Country earned a pair of home wins against Dover on Thursday. The boys scored a 21-36 victory while the girls' final was 15-50.

Girls volleyball fell in their opener, 3-1, against Dallastown on Thursday.

Field Hockey opened against Dallastown and lost 3-0.

Girls tennis: A few days after picking up their first win of the season, 4-1 past Dover, the ladies hit the court again, but fell to a very good Central squad, 5-0 and Wednesday lost to New Oxford by the same score.

The golf team defended home course Royal Manchester last Thursday and placed second with a 327. Both Caden Bunchette and Tanner Sadowski fired rounds of 77 in that match, which pulled the Cats into a tie for third. On Monday, the group finished fifth (347) at The Bridges. At Bridgewater on Wednesday, the group shot a 330, to take fourth place.
