ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT NEWS:  The Northeastern Athletic Department is looking to hire a Head Jr. High Field Hockey Coach for the upcoming fall season.  Interested candidates should contact Bryan Stephens at stephensb@nebobcats.org or 717-266-3644 ext. 3.

This will be our final tryout for cheerleading for the 2021-2022 school year. All middle school and high school students interested in cheering for basketball or football are welcome. Football cheer is currently only available for high school students. Tryouts will be held August 3rd and 4th from 7-9 pm in the high school main gym. You must attend both days. Wear shorts, a t-shirt and sneakers. If you have any questions please contact Lisa at rentzell@nebobcats.org for basketball cheer or Kayli at nebobcatscheer@yahoo.com for football cheer. Please RSVP here by July 27th if you plan to attend.

From our trainer: My name is Zach Noel and I am the Head Athletic Trainer here at Northeastern School District. Many of you already know me but if you don't, I am the healthcare professional that oversees the prevention, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of all injuries sustained while playing sports for Northeastern Junior High and High School. A big part of playing sports for the school is completion of the annual PIAA sports pre-participation packet (physical). In the past, parents or guardians were responsible for completing Sections 1-5 and having a doctor complete section 6 of the packet (all to be done AFTER June 1st). That is still the case, however, I am implementing a new athlete tracking system for this upcoming year. One of the perks of this new system is that the PIAA packet (Sections 1-5 since a new section was added this Spring) can now be completed online. Instructions for doing this are attached and the link to RankOne is NewInstructionsPage.aspx.Sections 6 (past medical history) and 7 (to be completed by a physician) still need to be printed, filled out, and turned in to preferably the High School MAIN OFFICE. Sections 6 and 7 are also attached. Both will need to be printed and taken along to your child's physical appointment. The online portion, as well as the doctor's portion, all need to be completed after June 1st and completed/turned in BEFORE the athlete's first day of tryouts. This will only need to be done once per athlete for the entire upcoming school year. If an athlete plays multiple sports, the physical only needs to be completed prior to the start of their first season, however; when completing the online physical, all sports that the athlete plans to try out for/play need to be checked off.

For the doctor's portion (Section 7), there are some options for getting this completed. OSS Health has dates available for appointments. These are always the cheapest option available at $15 cash/check/credit. OSS has time slots available on the following days:

Congratulations to senior Margaret Carroll for winning the District 3 3A 3,200-meter run. The senior was third in the 1,600. She went on to earn bronze in the 3,200 and a fourth-place medal in the 1,600. Kaden Hamilton won a silver medal in the 3A boys long jump and was fifth in the triple jump at districts and finished 23rd and 22nd respectively at states. Marissa Pritchett won an eighth-place medal in the district 3,200 and was 19th at states. Carroll and Pritchett teamed with Trinity Schraudner and Bella Treglia for District 3 fourth in the 3,200 relay and placed 17th in the state. These are phenomenal performances by all.

Boys volleyball took us on another great ride in the postseason, which came to a close June 5 against two-time defending PIAA 3A champion North Allegheny. The Bobcats finished with a 17-2 record once again making us proud.

As a reminder, dogs are not allowed on district property.  Event staff are instructed to address any
